Learning design of experiments for next-gen

Hello, I work with next-gen data. I have been looking for good resources for learning design of experiments?? I can find many online courses on the statistics of the analysis of the data (e.g. dimensionality reduction techniques, machine learning, etc.) but design of experiments does not seem to be a "hot topic" in the same way that big data/next-gen analysis are. Is it that it is not as important?. Any suggestions on where to look?

It's not that it's not important, it's just that experimental design is pretty similar regardless of the type of experiment you're doing. The only different thing about NGS is deciding how many reads to sequence per sample and you can find some recommendations on that if you search around a bit (or even just describe what you want to do with whomever will do the sequencing).
