  • MEGAN 6 Community Edition won't launch

    Hi all.

I installed MEGAN 6 Community Edition as below on my Linux system (Fedora 23, java version 1.8.0_71). However I cannot get MEGAN 6 GUI to launch. I just get a new line with no error message. Does anybody have any wisdom on this please?? Apparently it should open a window automatically when installation is complete. This didn't happen and whenever I try to launch it from the directory into which I installed with:

    >./MEGAN

... I get the new line and no clue why it hasn't worked!

    Installation:

    [chc@pmpc1451 Installs]$ ./MEGAN_Community_unix_6_2_18.sh -c
    Starting Installer ...
This will install MEGAN Community Edition on your computer.

Is there a file error.log in the installation window?
It may be a Java issue
MEGAN 6 requires an up-to-date Oracle JRE, but you can also try adding JavaFX to your OpenJava installation, doing something like this:
    sudo apt-get install openjfx
