  • Retrieving sequence info from *.bst files

    Hi,

I'm new to perl and coding, so any help will be appreciated!
I have a large *.bst file and the genome file.
I would like to retrieve the sequence of the target region that blasts/aligns to my read along with my query name in a single file. Would that be possible?

    example of .bst file
    01_x28 24 1..24 434810 763 242..265 1e-04 1.00 42.1 Plus / Plus
    03_x12 24 1..24 5769179 17779 3585..3608 1e-04 1.00 42.1 Plus / Plus

would it be possible to fetch only 01_x28 and sequence of 242..265
    so on in one file?
I do have the genome file in fasta format.
    Thanks!
