    Forming a sequence database

    Hello.

I know this may be a very basic question for people in the bioinformatics field but I'm an undergrad and i haven't learned anything about how to do this. I have to make a sequence database of hepatitis c virus genomic sequences. I was told that I have to find sequences from Ireland and what's known as 'anti-D cohort' which is a group of individuals from ireland who were infected with hepatitis c virus as a result of recieving anti-D. I have no idea how to find these sequences. I used GenBank to find sequences but i don't need sequences from canada e.t.c. if anyone could help it would be great, thanks.

You were on the right track. A search like this should get you started.

Once you have the search use the "Summary" drop-down link to change the option to "FASTA sequence", followed by "Send to" drop-down on the right side then "Choose destination" --> File. That will download the sequences you found.
