1000 genomes fastq format

Hi!

As far as I know there are two fastq-formats:
-Sanger
-Illumina

Does anybody know what fastq-format files from the 1000genomes project (http://www.1000genomes.org/page.php) have? Do the recalibrated files have Sanger format and the none-recalibrated files have Illumina or do they all have Sanger format or all have Illumina format?

I think it is the Sanger fastq (I would argue that strictly speaking there is only one fastq format. It is the sanger one). I am not very sure. Maybe you can check whether you can see character "!" in the quality string. If you see it, it is the standard fastq.
