Hey Everyone,
I have been lurking on this forum for a little while and have found it very helpful. I have a general question about cufflinks. When I map reads to transcripts using cufflinks and cuffcompare and cuffdiff I get what seem like impossibly small FPKM values at the end. These values go as low as 10^-200. Im struggling to see how this is possible given the genome is only 10^9 bases and I have only 10^7 reads. The smallest possible number in my reconing is therefore 10^-16
Any advice or clarification would be much appreciated.
best wishes
Steve
