    ONLINE WORKSHOP- Landscape Genomics

    Dear all,

    our online course “Landscape Genomics” is taking place on 13–17 July (2–6 PM Berlin time).

    This course introduces the field of landscape genomics, focusing on how genetic variation is distributed across space and how environmental factors can drive local adaptation. Participants will gain hands-on experience integrating environmental and genomic data to study spatial patterns of diversity and selection.

    The course covers the full analytical workflow, including acquisition and processing of environmental data from public databases, basic GIS operations, and the generation of environmental descriptors of landscapes. Participants will also learn how to analyse genetic variation and population structure in a spatial context, and apply key statistical approaches for detecting local adaptation, including latent factor mixed models (LFMM), and redundancy analysis (RDA).

    Finally, we will discuss interpretation and validation of results, as well as best practices for study design, including sampling strategies for landscape genomics experiments.

    This course is aimed at biologists, ecologists, geneticists, and conservation scientists interested in applying landscape genomics approaches in their research.
