    NGS Data Analysis - 1 Day Hands-on Training


    Background: This course will introduce students to bioinformatic analysis of next generation sequencing data, particularly for DNA-seq (variant analysis), RNA-seq and CHIP-seq. The course will be comprised of short lectures and mostly hands-on sessions. Short lectures will cover basic background knowledge and survey various software programs. For hands-on sessions, popular command line tools will be used to analyze primary data.  Topics: Basic concepts in NGS Analysis, NGS Databases and Tools, Data quality analysis and alignment, DNA-Seq (variant calling), RNA-seq (transcriptome analysis), CHIP-seq (peak calling), Data Visualization, downstream analysis.
