Hadoop for NGS sequence analysis

If you heard about Hadoop but never used it, following two commentaries can help you get started in writing your own hadoop code. The first commentary explains the basic concepts and the second commentary gives codes for an example - finding all Kmers in a set of short reads.

By mechanically following the second commentary, you should be able to install hadoop and run the Kmer code (or write other simple Hadoop codes) in less than 30 minutes. Then you can read the rest of commentaries and other links to understand the concepts in more detail.
