If you guys want to cite SEQanswers in your papers (hopefully you do!) please use this manuscript. Prior to publication SEQanswers was cited almost 40 times!

Hopefully we can capture some of this success with citations to the paper!

I was wondering if anyone could explain or clarify for me how should I acknowledge or, if possible, cite an specific post within Seqanswers. I am aware that there's been a recent publication of the community which I would cite in future manuscripts. However, my question relates more to cases where one uses posts containing ideas or code/scripts which one could use partially or in full length.

You can certainly cite the thread ID that is found in the URL along with the manuscript. Not sure about a single post.

THank you to everyone that cited the SEQanswers paper in 2012. According to Google Scholar, the all knowing source of citation info it seems that the paper has already been cited 6 times.

Here's to hoping it gets cited a lot more in 2013 as the site continues to grow!
