Hello,
I have an older Dell Precision T3400 server/workstation that I'm going to use for a bioinformatics workstation.
I need to buy some ECC RAM. The specs from DELL state that it takes PC2-6400 DDR2 SDRAM (800 Mhz) ECC Unbuffered RAM modules.
Can I put buffered, and/or fully-buffered RAM modules into/onto this motherboard? In other words, does the "unbuffered" part matter in terms of the modules will either (a) fit onto the motherboard and/or (b) actual perform?
I know not to mix the types.
Thanks,
Andor
