Does anyone have a comparison table of latest NGS tech?

    Hi all

I was wondering if anyone had or knew a reference to a table comparing the brief specs of current platforms. It all changes so fast and I know there are some out there I know nothing about. Ive been to all of the major-player's websites but it would be nice to see a simplified chart!

    Thanks

Reference table of platforms and manufacturer listed reads

We have a reference table of platforms and manufacturer listed reads / unit. Unit being flow cell lane, chip, PTP, SMRT cell.

This guide covers fundamentals of NGS technology and design of sequencing experiments. Topics include depth of coverage, read length and multiplexing.

Thanks. I was also looking for info regarding sample prep, read-length too, that kind of thing but thanks for your link!

        Shop by project

You can use this page to enter a sample project:
Find and order next-generation sequencing services based on your project specifications. Receive instant quotes with guaranteed quality and turnaround time.

and then filter by read length (min and max) and platform type. It's not a table of read lengths, but it will give you an idea of services/platforms available at the read length you're looking for.

Are you trying to purchase a platform or looking to find a sequencing service that meets a project's needs?

          the ngs field guide:
News and commentary about population genetics and genomics in ecology and evolutionary biology, written by working scientists.

I like it as it is updated every year. (so far)

The AllSeq Knowledge Bank (formerly BlueSEQ) is a neutral and fairly comprehensive compilation of the information that you're looking for: platform performance specs (output, runtime, read length, etc). We also include a subjective assessment of how well the various platforms are matched to different applications.

Here are the pages for the three main platforms that people seem to be using these days (but we have the rest as well):

            Illumina - http://www.allseq.com/knowledgebank/...orms/illumina/
            Ion Torrent - http://www.allseq.com/knowledgebank/...s-ion-torrent/

                by seqadmin

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for proactive pathogen surveillance systems. As ongoing threats like avian influenza and newly emerging infections continue to pose risks, researchers are working to improve how quickly and accurately pathogens can be identified and tracked. In a recent SEQanswers webinar, two experts discussed how next-generation sequencing (NGS) and machine learning are shaping efforts to monitor viral variation and trace the origins of infectious...

This year’s Advances in Genome Biology and Technology (AGBT) General Meeting commemorated the 25th anniversary of the event at its original venue on Marco Island, Florida. While this year’s event didn’t include high-profile musical performances, the industry announcements and cutting-edge research still drew the attention of leading scientists.
