    Making the switch, from "ologist" or "imist" to Bioinformatics

    I'm a formally trained Biochemist from the cancer research "industry" who has been transitioning into Bioinformatics for the past 3 years. I'm currently in a Bioinformatics Internship while studying for a certificate in Biomedical Informatics at a major medical center.

    I'm posting to reach out to others like me!

    I /was/ a double-majored microbiology/biochemistry major, worked in analytical chemistry and did research in a biochemistry lab when I went into graduate school for computational biology. It's been...interesting, so far.

        Hey guys! Like winsettz, I majored in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics in undergraduate and am currently enrolled as a PhD student doing computational genetics. I'm having quite a rough time lol. I'm trying to find a community of people who are also transitioning from traditional "wet labs" to bioinformatics research
