Please don't crosspost all over the site.

No thanks. Any poll which requires identifying myself opens one to the floodgates of spam.

I did not look at it, but an electronic popularity contest of this sort would be nearly meaningless no matter how it was conducted. I was just trying to get some sort of read on who the guys posting the poll were. Probably is just someone collecting email addresses for targeted spam.

              Hello all
I have posted this poll just to know how many people are using solexa. This poll was a team work of few friends from genomics field. This poll link does not ask for any personal details, if you are a member in Linkedin it takes you to the voting page and thats it.
To make things more clear we do not collect email ids...

              Thanks
              Sri

The poll is created by a group of genomics professionals, if you see the link its from linkedin which is a networking group. To participate in this poll you do not require to furnish your details and I do not collect email ids...
                Happy voting...
                Regards,

                    Agreed. Moving this to General.

srirang, in the future if you are going to query the users of this site for information that will undoubtedly be used for commercial purposes, I ask that you identify yourself and your organization clearly in the post. I understand the author/affiliation is listed on the poll, but you'd probably get a better response by being more straightforward.

Cancer Drug Resistance: The Lingering Barrier to Rising Survival
                        by SEQadmin2

Cancer survival rates have significantly increased in the last few decades in the United States, reaching a combined 70% 5-year survival rate by 2021. Behind this number, there are years of research to find new therapies, drug targets, and early detection methods. But there is one core challenge that keeps slowing down these advances, and it’s about drug resistance.

There is no single reason why many patients don’t respond to treatment as expected. Cancer is...

Love this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.

                        by SEQadmin2

I’m not a sequencing expert. I’m a purification scientist who uses NGS to evaluate workflows my group develops. With this perspective, we think about the sample first and the NGS workflow second. The sequencer is an exceptionally honest reporter, but it can only report on what you give it, so whether you get clean, interpretable data from an NGS workflow is largely determined before you begin.

Here are nine questions we think about, in roughly the order they matter, before...
