Duplication sequence

What do people mean by "duplication sequence"?
Elaine Mardis says that they try to account for duplication sequences in this interview in Genomeweb Q&A.

I think that she meant "duplicate sequences" and not "duplication sequences" since the section of the paper is talking about artifacts. Anyway the part right after those words

-- which essentially are due to PCR bias in the amplification steps of the library construction process --

says it all. They are finding multiple similar sequences (duplicates) due to PCR amplification. An all too common potential problem. She continues to say that they do find true duplicate sequences. How to separate these from the false PCR-based dups is also an all too common problem.
