I had really wanted to get a PhD in Bioinformatics Engineering. I find it absolutely fascinating because it's a combination of everything I love - math, biology, and programming. The only thing I'm concerned about is the pay.
At first, I had been told it pays great money - high salary, a field that keeps expanding and rising in value. As I do more research, I'm getting mixed answers. Some say it's excellent, others say the pay doesn't even come close to being worth all the hard work that goes into it. I really want to be in a high paying field. Are there any jobs similar with a higher average salary?
P/S: I had wanted to go into medical bioinformatics engineering, but wasn't limiting my options to it.
