    Hello & a survey

    Hi everybody,

    I am new in next-generation sequencing and have a question for you all:

    If you are inclined to use commercially available software package or open-source analysis tools to analyze your NGS data?

    I am interested in using target gene deep sequencing to uncover genetics mechanisms for rare/orphan diseases in childhood.

    I am wondering if there is anyone in this forum with similar research interests like me?

    Data variability is still an issue in sequencing technologies despite the advances in reproducibility and accuracy of these platforms. But the problem does not originate in the sequencing itself, but in the previous steps, before the sample reaches the sequencer.

    The first step is collection, followed by preservation and sample preparation for analysis. Most scientists overlook those steps, but not being careful might just be skewing the experiment’s results.
