Hello SeqAnswers community! Very glad to have found this forum. I apologize in advance for asking what to some might be obvious questions, but having recently made the switch from bench to desktop, I anticipate having a lot of those! Maybe with your collective insight and expertise that elusive PhD will no longer elude me! Cheers, B

Hi. When you ask questions -- and I hope you do -- please make sure that you have done your homework first. I.e., read the previous forum posts. I suspect that we all love new and interesting problems and questions yet dislike people who just post without doing their footwork first.

Yeah, but there is little "expert knowledge" in a web search. I don't mind so much answering questions that I could answer using a web search. I supposedly have years of training and can weigh available information to quickly find salient info.
I mind posts where the poster did not even bother to clearly specify their question -- provide enough information that it is possible to give a good answer.

And I suggest an abbreviation like "SES" = "someone else's search" as a response/cue for impatient seekers.

The sequencing world is rapidly changing due to declining costs, enhanced accuracies, and the advent of newer, cutting-edge instruments. Equally important to these developments are improvements in sequencing analysis, a process that converts vast amounts of raw data into a comprehensible and meaningful form. This complex task requires expertise and the right analysis tools. In this article, we highlight the progress and innovation in sequencing analysis by reviewing several of the...-

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...-
