hi from LA dowtown
Hi, I'm pretty new here. I work in los angeles(House Ear Institute),mostly doing the experimental part of SOLiD3 we installed in march. Our first project is comparing germinal and tumor sample using the mate paired library seq datas generated. I am also slowly trying to understand the process of analyzing this --mostly for my own info--not to actually do it. I will have some crazy question regarding coverage, complexity and accuracy

Data variability is still an issue in sequencing technologies despite the advances in reproducibility and accuracy of these platforms. But the problem does not originate in the sequencing itself, but in the previous steps, before the sample reaches the sequencer.
The first step is collection, followed by preservation and sample preparation for analysis. Most scientists overlook those steps, but not being careful might just be skewing the experiment’s results.
