Hi, I'm Daniel from Utah. I am finishing my undergraduate degree in bioinformatics at Brigham Young University. I am a research assistant in the Plant Genetics Lab working with Josh Udall and Craig Coleman. Right now I am working on characterizing a fungal genome we just sequenced using 454. I am also working on creating an EST annotation pipeline using, among other things, Maker.
I'm applying now to graduate programs in bioinformatics/computational biology, computational genomics, and stuff like that. My research interests are in genome assembly and genome characterization (gene prediction, functional prediction, etc).
