I'm Miki.
Although I may be member #39 on this site, I only just yesterday graduated with my BS in Molecular Biology (Minor: Chemistry). I was asked by ECO to come over and advise on the site, since I also design/administer a moderate-sized forum.
I'm taking a year off of my education before pursuing an MD/PhD dual degree (Assuming I kick the holy living crap out of the MCATs) because my dream has always been to save the world (hopefully through medical research).
I'm a Jane of all Trades, master of lots. My interests lie in genetic manipulation and (if we ever progress to that point) eugenics.
Since I just graduated, I have no idea where I'm off to this year...and the job search starts next week.
Prior to graduation, I was the president/founder of the Biological Sciences Society on campus as well as the interim president of the ACS on campus this last year as well as the coordinator of the Chemistry Magic show for the local "Chicks in Science" event. I was told I scored the highest they've ever seen (one estimate was by ~20% points) on the test they administer in a course required for graduation with a biology degree (apparently all old questions from GRE Biology subject tests), which amused me to no end because I had horrific attendance due to family/medical issues (100% lab attendance, though...lol). We'll see how I manage to sell that "I swear, I'm really a genius but I didn't go to classes often" demeanor I have to a college for grad school.
My talents lie in my quick-acquisition of knowledge and my ridiculous logical-analytical reasoning abilities. I plan on being a key member of a think-tank someday. lol
