The Genome Analysis Centre, Norwich, UK
Bioinformatics Team Leader
The bioinformatics team performs two functions: supporting the sequencing pipelines and providing ad hoc bioinformatics support to both internal and external projects.
The team are responsible for maintaining process management and tracking systems along with efficient processing of sequence data. Quality checking of data is a critical aspect of the team’s work.
For many projects undertaken by TGAC the Institute’s role in data analysis is crucial and the NCG bioinformatics team are expected to provide support to both internal and external projects. This will involve a wide variety of analysis including de novo assembly, resequencing, transcriptomics, epigenetics and metagenomics. The team leader will be required to support the project management team in specifying project requirements and advising on study design.
