A Postdoctoral Fellowship is immediately available in Clausen laboratory at the Sahlgrenska Academy, Gothenburg University, Sweden.
Dr. Clausen’s research group is interested in elucidating the molecular mechanism of genome instability and DNA repair. In particular, we are interested in understanding how DNA lesions and mutations are generated and are being repaired on a genomewide, strand specific scale at single nucleotide resolution level. The group will use interdisciplinary approaches to map and characterize DNA lesions and mutations in yeast, human cells and in patients with genetic diseases.
Successful candidates will manage several exciting new projects in the general areas of DNA repair, Functional Genomics and Systems Biology. The candidate will employ traditional biochemical approaches in combination with high-throughput genomic approaches to characterize genome-wide mechanisms of DNA repair.
Access to Protein Expression, Next Generation Sequencing, Bioinformatics core facilities and the short distance to Sahlgrenska University Hospital offers the candidate many opportunities in the design and pursuit of their research questions.
Qualifications:
• PhD in genetics, biochemistry or related areas.
• Excellence in research and communication
• Interest in working with genetics, biochemistry and bioinformatics.
• Fluency in English
Your application must include:
• Application (cover letter)
• CV
• List of publications
• 3 references
