  • Post-doctoral Fellow in Cancer Biology and Immunology

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular biology, immunology or other relevant disciplines, and in-depth experience demonstrated by relevant track record. Experience in cancer research and/or cancer immunology will be an advantage. Preference will be given to those with expertise in animal work. Applicants should also be highly motivated individuals with the ability to work in a team environment and with good oral and written communication skills in English. Candidates who have strong interest in translational research and appreciate the complexity of biological systems are particularly encouraged to apply. The abilities to work independently, participate in highly collaborative projects, and contribute intellectually to research development are requisites for the position. The appointee will work in a multi-disciplinary group and investigate the molecular mechanism of liver cancer using cutting-edge strategies. Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Dr Daniel Ho (https://hub.hku.hk/cris/rp/rp02285) at [email protected] or Prof. Irene Ng (https://hub.hku.hk/cris/rp/rp00335) at [email protected].

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
    by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

    Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
    by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
