  • S5 reads versus proton

We recently purchased an S5 and are planning to bring a test onboard that was done on a proton. The proton using a P1 would consistently give over 90 million total reads. However, on the S5 that same sample using a 540 yields 80 million reads consistently. Is the chemistry different in the proton compared to the S5 or something else? I thought the 540 was comparable to the P1? Is there a way to achieve 90 million reads on the S5? Thanks.

If the published spec for S5 is 80 million then you are already doing the best you can. If the spec is more then you should be talking with ion tech support rather than us

Looks like 80 million reads is right on the spec. So you are doing great.
