Nix:
Out of curiosity, do you take samples from other institutions or is this purely Utah only?
Thanks,

Comlete Genomics sequencing service
Hi,
Although we are not taking orders yet (June 2009 is our service launch), Complete Genomics is a human sequencing service, using our own technology.

A few more sequencing services (UK)
I use Liverpool university and have had good results, I've also found a couple more universities who have recently got 454 sequencers:
York University Technology Facility
http://www.york.ac.uk/depts/biol/tf/...cs/GL_454.html
and
Newcastle University
http://www.ncl.ac.uk/ihg/research/fa...flx/gsflx.html

Any idea the cheap sequencing from Complete Genomics will start? I heard rumors of 1-2 years. Any one have a credible source? Genome sequencing in the thousand dollar range will change all of us do science.

Well, you're right, there's only a small ref at the http://baygen.hu/index.php?option=co...d=78&Itemid=51 yet. We're just setting up the section about NGS serv. prov.

I'm happy to, except I can't find _anything_ on that link that describes any sort of next gen services (contact info, pricing, sample prep, etc). Am I missing something?

Amplicon sequencing is a targeted approach that allows researchers to investigate specific regions of the genome. This technique is routinely used in applications such as variant identification, clinical research, and infectious disease surveillance. The amplicon sequencing process begins by designing primers that flank the regions of interest. The DNA sequences are then amplified through PCR (typically multiplex PCR) to produce amplicons complementary to the targets. RNA targets...-

Targeted sequencing is an effective way to sequence and analyze specific genomic regions of interest. This method enables researchers to focus their efforts on their desired targets, as opposed to other methods like whole genome sequencing that involve the sequencing of total DNA. Utilizing targeted sequencing is an attractive option for many researchers because it is often faster, more cost-effective, and only generates applicable data. While there are many approaches...-
