how to combine .gz files and extract?

Dear all,

I am new to RAN seq. Normally I get two sequence.txt files that I can easily run on tophat.

now I have got RNA seq results that are in many .txt.gz files. I am told first I have to combine all theses files and then I can extract sequence.txt files.

can anybody inform me the command to combine (not compress) all these .txt.gz files.

zcat *.txt.gz > my_output_file

This is the same as

gzip -dc *.txt.gz > my_output_file.

'man gzip' is your friend. :-)
