    Galaxy cloud

Hi, does anybody have experiences with Galaxy Cloud?

In amazon cloud website, I can read that there are some free hours and free storage space for new users. Is this enough for initial RNA-Seq analysis???

Are there any traps which might make I run into a huge bill?

The free tier on Amazon is unlikely to be enough for some RNA-Seq analysis.

Current Galaxy Project guidelines on this are at:

Galaxy: Open source platform for accessible, reproducible, and transparent computational research

However, note that the page is under construction. I can't give you particular cost estimates for different configurations (yet - ask again in a month or two). There is an AWS calculator online. My intuition is that unexpected costs may come from
    1. If you leave the server up when you are not using it.
    2. Cost of any EBS storage, when the server is up or not.
    3. Data transfer is rumored to also be a surprise cost.

but I don't know that from experience (yet). I do believe that if you bring up a server, run your analysis, offload your results, and then shut it down, you will be amazed at how cheap it is.

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
        by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating

New Genomics Technologies Take Aim at Long-Standing Limits
        by SEQadmin2

Researchers using sequencing and genomics tools often have to make trade-offs. They can choose between speed or scale, short reads or long-range information, or targeted panels or a view of the whole transcriptome. New technologies that have been released this year are built to address those tough choices.

We asked six companies the same four questions to learn about their latest products. The new technologies bring a lot to the table, including rethinking sequencing
