    Power in RNA Seq studies

    Hi,

    Does anyone have an ideas on how to go about doing power calculations for RNA Seq studies? I've seen this tool http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23314327 but I was wondering if anyone had other suggestions?. So far I've sequenced about 10 biological replicates in each of my groups that I'm comparing for DE but Im looking for a way of testing whether I need to do more samples or what kind of power I have with my data so far?

    Any advice would be appreciated!!

    Data variability is still an issue in sequencing technologies despite the advances in reproducibility and accuracy of these platforms. But the problem does not originate in the sequencing itself, but in the previous steps, before the sample reaches the sequencer.

    The first step is collection, followed by preservation and sample preparation for analysis. Most scientists overlook those steps, but not being careful might just be skewing the experiment’s results.
