    tabix new version 0.2.6

    Hi all,
I've just noticed that there's a new version (0.2.6) of the very useful tabix package available on sourceforge (updated about two weeks ago)

However, the Changelog file doesn't document any of the changes since the previous version (although there are many differences in the source code between the new version and 0.2.5). Does anybody know what the updates/bugfixes/new features are included (or if there's a Changelog somewhere I'm missing)? Thanks for any info

Curiously the version on github is still 0.2.4, so my plan to look at the commit history to see what changed won't work:
Note: tabix and bgzip binaries are now part of the HTSlib project. - samtools/tabix

0.2.5 had a bug on some linux versions which made the fetch fail in some instances

This has now been fixed and the new version contains that fix

It may also contain other new features but this is the only fix I am aware of

It seems the 0.2.6 is the same as github master branch?

Nine Things a Sample Prep Scientist Thinks About Before Sequencing
          by SEQadmin2

I’m not a sequencing expert. I’m a purification scientist who uses NGS to evaluate workflows my group develops. With this perspective, we think about the sample first and the NGS workflow second. The sequencer is an exceptionally honest reporter, but it can only report on what you give it, so whether you get clean, interpretable data from an NGS workflow is largely determined before you begin.

Here are nine questions we think about, in roughly the order they matter, before...

From Collection to Sequencing: Why Sample Preparation and Preservation Define Sequencing Data
          by SEQadmin2

Data variability is still an issue in sequencing technologies despite the advances in reproducibility and accuracy of these platforms. But the problem does not originate in the sequencing itself, but in the previous steps, before the sample reaches the sequencer.

The first step is collection, followed by preservation and sample preparation for analysis. Most scientists overlook those steps, but not being careful might just be skewing the experiment’s results.
