    mips-REdat

    hi,everyone
Recently i have a project about genome sequencing, and before analysis this genome,i must mask the genome with repeatmaker, i used lots of repeatbases, but they were not what i want. After reading some papers, i find mips-REdat repeatdata (MIPS Repeat Element Database (mips-REdat), i think it may fits my needs, but ,when i reach the website of mips-REdat(http://mips.helmholtz-muenchen.de/pl...nstruction.jsp), unluckly, it shows "This Site Is Under Construction!". i also google key words ("mips_REdat"), but it also didn't find the results i needed. i send a letter to the author of mips-REdat either, but it hasn't any reply until now. Un.., i have no way just ask you here now. So, could you send me a copy of mips-REdat if you have one? (my email: [email protected])
Great appreciate for your any kind help!
    Best wishes!

Klaus isn't always the easiest person to get on email as he's extremely busy.

Try Manuel ([email protected]) as he is the genome database manager.

What plant are you working on? If its a cereal (specifically Triticeae) you might be better off downloading TREP (http://wheat.pw.usda.gov/ITMI/Repeats/) as its the most used.

      Thank you jimmybee.
In fact, waht i want to masked are lots of BESs from Oryza. i had used Oryza repeat database(MSU) as well as Gramineae Repeat Database (ftp://ftp.plantbiology.msu.edu/pub/d...Plant_Repeats/), but the results didn't fit my need. yesterday, i read a paper about BESs of Oryza, published on the BMC genomic, they masked the BESs using the mips-REdat, i think it may better than Oryza repeat data and Gramineae Repeat data, so i want to download it and try. Unluckly, this website isn't work for some reasons. Just as you say, klaus is always extremely busy, and i emailed Manuel few minutes ago.
thanks for your kind help again

Pathogen Surveillance with Advanced Genomic Tools
          by seqadmin

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for proactive pathogen surveillance systems. As ongoing threats like avian influenza and newly emerging infections continue to pose risks, researchers are working to improve how quickly and accurately pathogens can be identified and tracked. In a recent SEQanswers webinar, two experts discussed how next-generation sequencing (NGS) and machine learning are shaping efforts to monitor viral variation and trace the origins of infectious...

This year’s Advances in Genome Biology and Technology (AGBT) General Meeting commemorated the 25th anniversary of the event at its original venue on Marco Island, Florida. While this year’s event didn’t include high-profile musical performances, the industry announcements and cutting-edge research still drew the attention of leading scientists.

          The Headliner
The biggest announcement was Roche stepping back into the sequencing platform market. In the years since...
