Hello,
We have been told that GEO is a broker for the SRA – that if datasets are submitted to GEO, then GEO will submit the appropriate data and metadata to SRA.
our questions are:
- is that the case?
- with respect to NGS data, does GEO only contain data from gene expression experiments, or does it contain NGS data from other kinds of experiments?
- If GEO does automatically submit some data to the SRA are there any signs in the metadata that this has occurred? For example, many studies in SRA have a GDS number which relates to GEO; could these all be datasets which were brokered by GEO?
Thanks for your time.
