  • Is it possible to run PfamScan direct on DNA sequence?

    Hello,
    is it possible to run a local installed Pfam prediction (PfamScan) direct on DNA sequence?

    There is a search field on the homepage to do so (http://pfam.sanger.ac.uk/search). But I couldn't get it to run on a local server with DNA. It seems that only protein sequence prediction works.

    Did I miss something?

    I don't want to translate it to all 6 reading frames

    This help FAQ seems to indicate so: http://pfam.sanger.ac.uk/help#tabview=tab3 Question 8 in the navigation box on right.

    You will need to install the wise2 package.ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/software/unix/wise2/

      Thanks you for your fast answer!

      I will dig further... I think I already have wise2 installed. But I didn't know that this can be used.
