Determining the Y haplogroup using SNPs
Hello,
I would like determine the Y haplogroup of an individual but I have no experience in doing so. I have WGS data on the individual and have called all the variants compared to hg19.
I have some questions that i hope you can help me with:
1. is there a specific reference sequence i should use for calling variants (like rCRS when detemining mtDNA haplogorups)?
2. Is there a online tool for determining the Y haplogroup using fasta seq. or maybe variants (somthing like MitoTool)? I took a look at http://www.isogg.org/tree/ISOGG_YDNA_SNP_Index.html and realised it would take years if i tried to do it manually
