  • How install cufflinks in the server

I need install cufflinks in the server. The server is university high performance computer, so I don't have root authority. When I follow the instruction from cufflinks website (http://cole-trapnell-lab.github.io/c...tting_started/), I'm confused (I'm new user of Linux). So I have no idea about how to install SAM and Eigen, those folders are not existing in my account, how could I fix it out?
    Here is my fold:
    /home/svu/smrhoj/NGStool/

    Thanks.

Download the pre-compiled binary from here: http://cole-trapnell-lab.github.io/c..._x86_64.tar.gz

No install will be needed: http://cole-trapnell-lab.github.io/c...binary-release Adjust $PATH variable as needed.

If you are not familiar with command line take a look at this guide for unix basics for biologists: http://korflab.ucdavis.edu/Unix_and_...ent.html#part1

You may want to put a ticket in to see if the admins will install this (and other NGS software) on the cluster. It may already be there if there are others who do NGS at your university. If it is not already installed, it would make sense to have this installed centrally so every user does not need to do it in their own account.

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
        by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

        Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
        by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
