RSEM expected counts and technical replictaes

Hi all,

does any one know if it is correct to sum the calculated expected_count from technical replicates (different lane runs) calculated in RSEM by running rsem-calculate-expression separately on them?.

I would be rather surprised if that yielded the same values as if you had merged beforehand. Granted, I expect the difference won't be that huge, but they will likely be different.
