I am trying to find information on how much genetic variation one can expect between different tissues within an individual. For example, how different is breast tissue from blood? I know this has been described for methylation and expression but I am interested in DNA differences.
I am asking because when doing tumor/normal variation calling you want to use the same tissue as a normal that the tumor originated from but barring that, is it ok to use some other tissue? How many more variants can one expect if not using the same tissue?
