VirusDetect - new tool for virus discovery using deep sequencing small RNAs

We developed a new tool for virus detection using deep sequencing small RNAs. It works with both small RNA and RNA-seq data.

Compared to other tools, we extract all viruses from GenBank, and remove redundant virus sequences to speed up the known virus identification. Besides, the novel virus (without sequence similarity to any known viruses) could be identified based on siRNA profile when using deep sequencing small RNAs.

We also provide an online version for windows users, and the output the identification result in html page for easy to view.
