  • Promoter sequence

    Hi,

Where can I find the promoter sequence of all the gene of an organism (in this case Bos Taurus) ?

    Thanks,

    N.

    Hi Nico

Try http://rsat.ulb.ac.be/rsat/, alot of differenet tools there.
I think there is a tool called something like "retrieve ensembl seq." where you can define the regions you wish to retrieve. Also Bos Taurus

    All the best

Galaxy should be another option. You can get data from various servers.

Just to add to the list - I'd normally use BioMart to extract this kind of data.

          Ok for biomart,

But I do not see where is the option for the promoter attribute ?

If you skip the filtering step all together (so you get information on all genes), and then select "Attributes". From there you can select "Sequences" from the radio button at the top, you can then select "Flank (Transcript)", and then you can specify how far back from the TSS you want your promoter sequence to extend.

              Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
              by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

              Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
              by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
