Dr. Fred Sanger has passed away

This is a sad day indeed.

BBC is reporting that Dr. Frederick Sanger has passed away at the age of 95.

He is the only Briton to win two Nobel Prizes and the only scientist to have been awarded the prize for Chemistry twice.

We owe him a great debt.
