@ECO: yes, why not have the Pipeline for "those that either have a commercially released instrument, or are well on their way". I guess you can be the judge, and we'll protest if we don't agree a certain system falls under the definition :-)

"Single Molecule" I think is what you're looking for vs. "single strand"

indeed, I adjusted the list: Ion Torrent (Post-Light Sequencing™ technology)
Thanks

I think Complete Genomics is best served with the Service Providers forum. How about a "single molecule sequencing" forum.
PS Ion Torrent isn't single strand sequencing.

What do you all think, is it time to expand "The Pipeline" forum into more companies (the list above being a great start)?
My rule was previously that you had to have a commercially released instrument, but I think there is definitely room for more discussion that one forum allows.
Thoughts?

that's why they are number 13 in my list (speaking as a plant scientist) ;-)

AGBT 2010 sequencing technology summary
Complete Genomics (http://www.completegenomics.com/) provides large-scale sequencing of human genomes as a service. Its focus hasn't changed.

I thought that Bionanomatrix only provides chips to line up the DNA, but they don't do any sequencing themselves...

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...-

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...-
