    Eukaryote ARB Database

    Hi all,

I am doing some studies looking at microbial diversity and I am getting a significant level of eukaryotes (mostly fungi). I do not have much experience with eukaryotes and I want to look into them in more detail. Does anyone know of a database for ARB covering eukaryotes or even just fungi.

Also any suggestions on using 18S vs, ITS1 sequence would be very helpful

    Thanks
    Baz

The silva database (http://www.arb-silva.de/download/arb-files/) has a pretty comprehensive 18S sequence collection. You can remove the Bacteria and Archaea if you want to just focus on Euks and limit your database size. I don't know of any ARB database for internal transcribed spacer regions.
