  • Control DNA sequencing primer

I have looked over the excellent post above containing the sequences for all of the Solexa adapter/primer sequences (thanks ECO). However it did not specifically mention the sequencing primer for the phiX174 control DNA. Is the sequencing primer for the phiX control the same as the standard genomic sequencing primer?

    Thanks

I'm not the person to ask...all the information I have at this time is in that Sticky post. I'm sure someone will chime in. I would expect them to be the same, but you never know.

Yes, it is the same primer - also the same primer used for smRNA sequencing, would be helpful if they let us know if it were the same for all kits

No, for DGE kits the primer used is a different one

Interesting.....I looked at the website that shows the primer sequences, they appear to be different for all the kits - but I have used the same primer for PhiX, smRNA, and genomic sequencing. I wonder if the ligated pieces are the same and they just choose different parts to design primers for different kits?

            Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
            by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

            Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
            by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
