    where to purchase reversible terminators

    Hello dear sequencing gurus

I was wondering whether anybody knows where and if I could purchase separately the reversible terminators used in Illumina kits.

We would like to fiddle a bit with sequencing by synthesis protocol.

    would deeply appreciate any advise

    Thanks!!

I would be incredibly surprised if that is not a proprietary reagent. You could check and see where they got it in their original patents, though, if it wasn't custom made for them...

      Thanks!

well the formula and the synthesis protocol is fully disclosed in the papers and it does not seem to be too hard to make. So I was surprised to find nobody sells them.

The market share is probably worth less than a possible IP suit.

Contact Azco Biotech; I think they're now out of that business, but they may still sell them for the Polonator/Mini.

There have been multiple published reversible terminator chemistries, but perhaps as GW_OK suggested they are all locked up by patents licensed to the players in this field (QIAGEN, Illumina, Helicos, LaserGen, etc).

16S/ITS Profiling vs. Shotgun Metagenomics: What Changes in Your Workflow?
              by SEQadmin2

NGS has revolutionized clinical microbiology by offering new ways to identify and surveil pathogens without prior knowledge of the target. One popular approach is 16S rRNA and ITS amplicon sequencing, which targets specific microbial markers. But studies are increasingly incorporating shotgun metagenomics, a technique that sequences all DNA from a sample without targeting specific microbial markers. This approach allows more detailed taxonomic classification, detection...

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
              by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating
