We have our first HiSeq here at IGS but it will take 2-3 weeks before we will have production data. For now there will be some testing runs.
What I do know is, the final output is a BCL file from two flow cells, binary equivalent of qseq which can be converted back to qseq using a Illumina supplied converter. The downstream analysis from that point is same as of GA.
Hope this helps!

I don't have first experience... Maybe someone at the Broad institute will soon be able to comment, since they just purchased 51!

HiSeq2000
Hello everybody,
since the new HiSeq2000 device is out now i was wondering whether anyone does already have some first hand experience and could comment on the performance/reliability of the machine. Could it recommendable to wait before investing into sequencing with this platform?
Thanks in advance!Tags: None

NGS has revolutionized clinical microbiology by offering new ways to identify and surveil pathogens without prior knowledge of the target. One popular approach is 16S rRNA and ITS amplicon sequencing, which targets specific microbial markers. But studies are increasingly incorporating shotgun metagenomics, a technique that sequences all DNA from a sample without targeting specific microbial markers. This approach allows more detailed taxonomic classification, detection...-

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?
Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating...-
