    Bst polymerase

    Hi all,

    It might be a stupid question but I was wondering why exactly the Bst polymerase is used during sequencing. Is it because there is no proofreading activity as some websites mention?

    Well, I was told by our Illumina staff that they used Bst because it was the cheapest polymerase they could find! I'm sure there must be other reasons though.
