    NovaSeq SP 2x250 kit

    Suddenly, I find Illumina's web site updated with
    this SP 2x250 kit that can output 400Gbp in 38 hours.

    See output, run time, sample throughput, read length, and other NovaSeq 6000 System specifications, and learn how the instrument works.


    Previously the best 2x250 was HiSeq 2500 Rapid
    with a throughput of 150Gbp in 60 hours.

    The throughput per time is ~4.2x. Not sure
    about the pricing but I am sure it should also
    be much cheaper.

    I suppose even more core labs will be forced to
    buy NovaSeq now.

    Also, good news for genome assembly and
    metagenomics
