Ion torrent blog on raw accuracy - good primer for accuracy grand challenge

If anyone is interested in Test Fragment accuracy or the Life Grand Challenge - Accuracy. Please check out my blog. It is pretty technical and dry but I tried my best to insert some humor.

This blog contains mainly bioinformatics analysis and discussion.

Pretty funny stuff. If you get bored with your day job (or trying to get the $1M prize) you can always try to get a job writing for Larry David.

Thanks for the kind comments. Curb your enthusiasm and Seinfeld are my favorite comedies.

Blog post shows what a difference software improvements make in regards to throughput, speed and quality of analysis. Also shows the feasibility of the accuracy challenge.

This is the second post of what is now to be a four part series looking at how Ion Torrent accuracy has improved over time. In this edition, I will show what a massive difference software can make …

16S/ITS Profiling vs. Shotgun Metagenomics: What Changes in Your Workflow?
          by SEQadmin2

NGS has revolutionized clinical microbiology by offering new ways to identify and surveil pathogens without prior knowledge of the target. One popular approach is 16S rRNA and ITS amplicon sequencing, which targets specific microbial markers. But studies are increasingly incorporating shotgun metagenomics, a technique that sequences all DNA from a sample without targeting specific microbial markers. This approach allows more detailed taxonomic classification, detection...

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
          by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating
