Is OT1 compatible with my sequencing kit?

We would like to sequence with Ion PGM Sequencing 200 Kit v2, but we have only OneTouch1 ( and kit for that: Ion OneTouch 200 Template Kit v2 DL). We have 316 v1 and 316 v2 chips too. Could I use OT1 with Ion PGM™ Sequencing 200 Kit v2? Is it compatible? Which chip should I use? v1 or v2?

Are there any serious changes between OT1 and OT2? (e.g. differences between bead sizes or something like this?)

I heard that the polymerase of the Ion PGM Sequencing 200 Kit v2 is only compatible with v2 chips but I am really worried about OT1. Thanks for all the help!

    Officialy, they are not compatible.

In practice, they should work (I already got good results from such combination).

I think the reason that they are not officially listed as compatible is that Life Tech cannot thoroughly test all different combinations.

    Hope this helps.

16S/ITS Profiling vs. Shotgun Metagenomics: What Changes in Your Workflow?
      by SEQadmin2

NGS has revolutionized clinical microbiology by offering new ways to identify and surveil pathogens without prior knowledge of the target. One popular approach is 16S rRNA and ITS amplicon sequencing, which targets specific microbial markers. But studies are increasingly incorporating shotgun metagenomics, a technique that sequences all DNA from a sample without targeting specific microbial markers. This approach allows more detailed taxonomic classification, detection...

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
      by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating
