  • Emerging Applications for Single-Cell Technologies

Single-cell technologies investigating the genome, epigenome, proteome, transcriptome, and metabolome have transformed the information that can now be gleaned from the cellular and molecular landscape. They are the ideal tools for gaining insight into cell diversity and biological heterogeneity.

This webinar brings together a group of post-doctoral fellows from labs that are actively involved in using single-cell analysis for their work. These early career scientists are keen to talk about the recent single-cell innovations and are willing to share best practices and technical know-how gained from many carefully designed and successfully executed experiments.

Their short scientific presentations will be followed by a Q&A session.

    You will learn about:
    • Optimization of sample prep and experimental design for single-cell analysis
    • Working with challenging sample types—primary cells, organoids, autopsy samples
    • Strategies for planning and multiplexing for a complex experiment
    • Integration of single-cell sequencing data with spatial transcriptomics
    • Common challenges and how to troubleshoot
    • Case studies describing how single-cell analysis can be used for diverse applications

    Valuable for those interested in:
    • Single-cell analysis
    • RNA and ATAC sequencing
    • Spatial transcriptomics
    • Gene expression profiling
    • Functional genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics
    • Cellular analysis for kidney, eye, and infectious disease
    • Data visualization and integration

    Webinar Date: February 23, 2023
Time: 1 pm ET, 10 am PT

    Recent Developments in Metagenomics
    by seqadmin

Metagenomics has improved the way researchers study microorganisms across diverse environments. Historically, studying microorganisms relied on culturing them in the lab, a method that limits the investigation of many species since most are unculturable1. Metagenomics overcomes these issues by allowing the study of microorganisms regardless of their ability to be cultured or the environments they inhabit. Over time, the field has evolved, especially with the advent...

Understanding Genetic Influence on Infectious Disease
    by seqadmin

During the COVID-19 pandemic, scientists observed that while some individuals experienced severe illness when infected with SARS-CoV-2, others were barely affected. These disparities left researchers and clinicians wondering what causes the wide variations in response to viral infections and what role genetics plays.

Jean-Laurent Casanova, M.D., Ph.D., Professor at Rockefeller University, is a leading expert in this crossover between genetics and infectious...
